the Taj Mahal
It appeared at first as a radiant beacon in the night. See below.

Things worth photographing I have no good pictures of:

The giant Tesla coil. The monster truck rally of Mr. Wizard experiments, loud, flashy and crowd-pleasing.

The Nebulous Entity. Gorgeous and bizarre. I don't feel too bad about the photos, though -- I haven't seen a single shot of this anywhere on the Web that really does it justice. If you sent a 50s jukebox through a transdimensional portal such that it mutated into a living, pulsating, 20-foot-high organism, you might have something like this.

The Taj Mahal. What this picture fails to show is how very bright it was. A temple of found plastic, bits and pieces of electronic appliances and children's toys, lit from within by banks of brilliant white flourescents. The stage, featuring poetry, rants, and a Devo tribute band called Mongoloid, was just an added bonus.

That ball thing. A geodesic sphere about 20 feet tall, like a gigantic D&D die constructed of aluminum struts. In the center, suspended by wires, a seat with straps for arms and legs, and a rope ladder. Get in the seat and a bunch of people roll you around the open desert. Did I mention the flashing lights?
